I bought an ORIGINAL copy of Supreme Commander yesterday...and after the installation, started installing the patches. After installing the last patch, I ran the game and it gave me an error saying my graphics card didn't meet the requirements, WTF?

So I had to uninstall the whole damn thing...and reinstall it, but this time, didn't install ANY patches.

Is there a workaround for this, and do I really need the patches?

First of all, update your GPU drivers. If that doesn't work out for you.ONLY then give this a try:

Go to "C:\Users\*insert user name*\AppData\Local\Gas Powered Games\SupremeCommander" in Vista and delete "Game.prefs".There's actually some mess-up with the settings. This should do the trick.

Yeah, that's where you got those 2 from. I guess they're dealing with the same vendors.

"The most satisfying feel you can get in the gym is the "pump". It's as satisfying to me as "cumming" is, y'know? As having sex with a woman and cumming. So can you believe how much I am in heaven? I'm like getting the feeling of cumming in the gym, getting the feeling of cumming at home, and cumming backstage when I pump up and when I pose out in front of 5000 viewers, I get the same feeling, so I'm cumming day and night! I mean it's terrific...right?" - Arnold Schwarzenegger

I have it installed but it's not working yet. I need to do more things in order to get it working under Ubuntu. You can get FA for pretty cheap (not 9 Dhs cheap though). Besides, even if you don't get FA, we can still play original Supcom. But yes, do patch up to the latest.

I was wondering, what is the economics behind selling a game which sold for 150 Dhs + a year back for 10 dhs now? Thats under 3 USD and not even bargain bin games are sold for 10 bucks...?

The latest patch really adds a lot to the game though. It fixes some very serious bugs for multiplayer, adds some really cool UI enhancements, and improves overall performance.

Update:
Ok, I got it working now! It's patched up to 3280 (no FA installed yet) so I'm ready when you are. Mind you, I haven't tried to play online yet so I have no idea if this'll even work.

Why would we need Garena/Hamachi? I'm not really sure what they do though but it looks like a way to create a VPN between players. I don't think that's necessary since Supcom supports direct IP connections. Also, Hamachi apparently has a Linux client but Garena does not.
