Hi all,

I want to build a non profit website where I want to upload video and audio,
The scope will be videos to help the students and job searchers initially to provide general ideas on job search, office environment, carrier path, quotes, logistics, purchasing and finance.

Since I plan to do this on non profit basis, I want to understand what latest technologies are available to generate videos and audio and manage website of such nature, fortunately I have it background and have worked on website but I am not necessary a graphic designer

Appreciate some leads and further ideas surrounding these from experts? Stating with idea of domain name.

Well, here's wishing you all the best :).
Choosing a domain host can be tricky, you need to dig deep into the server setup, check what is support/what is not. Also, since you are going be having a lot of users and video/audio uploads.. you have to make sure that the host has a good bandwidth allowance. Video on servers usually require IonCube and other such loaders. Make sure the host has such loaders installed or atleast a possibility for you to install them. There are about 100000000000 free scripts that you can install and customize according to your liking..a CMS like Joomla could possibly prove useful to you. Hope I was of help ;)

If you are going to crate a website from scratch, you should well plan about the target audience and how you are going to promote it and your goals because building a non profit website will need backing of good revenue source or it should have ability to generate revenues to get survive.

thanks arjun and other folks give me some starting stuff to thinking about, intially i am going to finance from my end, hopefully it will not be a lot
