Depending on how many good games are out at a time i would say one a week on average one every two weeks if there aren't many good games out. I wouldn't pay more than 10dhs for a 24 hour rent period (excluding secturity deposits of course).

@topic- Hmm, i would say 20Dhs per week would be fine. I would also like a membership option with set fees and unlimited rentals per month..or a set number of rentals. Example...100 Dhs/7 rentals. Something like that.

20dhs per week? LOL maybe for an old game but for new games it would be 20-30 per day! That's about how much you pay in NZ for a new release game for a day

Umm...what's the use of the rental then? Not everyone can finish or has the time to finish the game in under 2-3 days. At a week, if you pay 20Dhs per day, it equals to 140 Dhs a week. Then its useless for me. I would rather buy the game and enjoy it at my pace, especially if its a multiplayer oriented game. 140 Dhs of hurried gaming? No thanks.

No idea how NZ works. But...is it the same in the US too? All i have read is $10 a week or something like that. Well, if that's the mindset here...then no wonder we don't have game rentals here. It's pretty useless. 20 Dhs a day for a movie is alright. But for a game? No bloody way!

of course it is! The whole world over you pay for new releases, games and movies, for 24-48 hours and older releases up to 1 week. 20dhs a game per week? do you know how many games the owner has to rent out every day to make money? Do you know how much money he will have to spend on games alone to have enough to make that money?

Here's a scenario for you:

A rental store buys 5 copies of a new game, rents it out at 20dhs a week. This is a steal for the average kid so all 5 copies are taken instantly. At 20dhs a week, just how many people do you think are going to rent this thing and how many weeks would you have to wait til you get your turn? At 5 copies for 20dhs a week, the owner is making only 100dhs on those 5 copies per week! how many games will he need to rent out everyday to pay for the store, utilities and his personal expenses? 5 games, that's 270 per game so 1350 at least. so it would take him 13.5 weeks to just break even on the cost of the games. If they had it your way, these guys should name this a charity not a rental store lol

no matter what number you guys suggest, if the idea acctually materializes in dubai, the number you sugested would not be used .... infact it will be soo overpriced that the shop would eventually sell the games and forget about the rental idea. This is due of 2 things:

1: the shop will be the only place where it offers rental games, therefore no competition, hence he can hike up the price to his liking
2. between renting a shop (say in a mall) and acquiring license for rental shop for a very rare market such as video games in uae, I wouldnt blame him for the high rental rate he will set

solution:

its simple, what you need is to make this a nonprofit organization, therefore Shk. or government backup.

I was actually considering giving it a shot, not through a shop, however idk if its worth it, not enough ppl i guess, plus only new games will actually be rented, and newstuff will be out b4 breaking even on new games am i right?

I wish they had something like that here in Dubai ..
15 to 20 dhs per week sounds just right.
There are many games that one would like to play Temporarily and not to own...meh doubt we will see anything like this in the future though ..
