Here are some review scores and quotes for BATMAN: ARKHAM ASYLUM, from press all over the world:

100 - Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)

Yes, this is the Batman you've been waiting for...It's a wonderful experience, beginning to end, never taking the easy or familiar route, and infusing each shift of the story with original ideas that cut no corners. [Oct 2009, p.70]

100 - GameSpy

This action-adventure is so smart, so well-written, and delivered with such an obvious love for its source material, I daresay it is both the best licensed game ever made, and arguably the best game of its kind in our current console generation.

95 - Game Informer

Batman: Arkham Asylum is this year's "BioShock," not just from the connection established with the world, but from its ability to innovate where new ideas are needed, and moreover, deliver an adventure unlike any other. [Sept 2009, p.82]

93 - IGN

The greatest comic book videogame of all time. This is an adult Dark Knight story that is well-told, packs some truly fun gameplay elements, has topnotch voice talent, and feel like it's part of Batman cannon.

92 - PSM3 Magazine UK

An incredible adventure in an amazing setting. Only weak detective bits and boss battles let it down.

91 - 1UP

That's Batman's general theme: so many of the mechanics turn Batman: Arkham Asylum into a bona fide "Batman Simulator," that the feeling of being Batman compensates for its flaws.

90 - Playstation Official Magazine UK

The whole game is a class act. The fighting is sophisticated but arcade-addictive, the visuals are stylish, and the Lara-like exploration is smartly done. Plus the DC heritage feels all-encompassing like a big blanket. Arkham Asylum is comfortably the best comic book game that PlayStation's ever had, and is up there with the system's best actioners, full stop. [Sept 2009, p.95]

90 - GameTrailers

Though it'll take you in the neighborhood of 12 hours to play through, Arkham Asylum feels like it's over in a heartbeat. This is a testament to its magnificent pacing, and the care that went into making every moment feel important.

90 - GameSpot

Regardless of whether you're getting sucked into the Story mode or competing for high scores in the Challenge mode, Batman: Arkham Asylum does an outstanding job of letting you be Batman. Everything about this game--the impressive visuals, stirring soundtrack, superb voice acting, fiendish puzzles, hard-hitting combat--feels like it has been lovingly crafted by a development team that's both knowledgeable and passionate about the source material.

90 - GameDaily

The result is so good that we're declaring it an easy 'Best of' contender for 2009.

80 - GamePro

It's a triumph of mood and psychological tension, and devoted fans will find a great deal to excite them. But they're also bound to be disappointed by its reliance on repetitive combat and a shortage of villains worth the big man's attention.

80 - Total Video Games

It triumphs where most other superhero games and other types of licensed action games fail: it makes you feel like the lead character. It makes you feel like The Batman.

Its about AED 329 ($ 89) in Virgin Megastore.

But if you go to the Mall of the Emirates, Deira City Centre or Mercato Mall stores and switch on the Bluetooth on your phone, you get a special message which entitles you for AED 50 off the Collector's Edition.

This starts from tomorrow.

Muahahahahahahahaha!!!

according to play asia, the 185dhs version you speak of seems to not be PAL compatible.

Seeing everyone raving about this game, i was wondering if it was worth my time. I am not a Batman fan and don't have detailed knowledge of his story, background and characters. Will i still like the game? Is it really that good?

^^^ I'm done 42% so far just because I waste a lot of time trying to complete all of Riddler's puzzles. Yes, its really that good. You can really tell that so much work went into making the game.

329 in Virgin Megastore?! I just went to Sharaf DG earlier, it was about 265 dhs there.

If it is 329 in Virgin, thats kinda expected. I have noticed their prices are always higher than other stores.

LOL @ Sharaf DJ....I never get games from any of these retail stores...I get them from the smaller shops in Satwa/Naif road. Its always in the 200-225 range. For example I got Killzone 2 a few days before launch for 195 Dhs.

Hahaha I thought I fixed the whole DJ. Oh yes, I did. You just had to mention it lol.

200-225 is a good range!! Ahhhh, I dont have any patience for satwa, and never been to naif. I buy some from souq.com if I can wait for it, otherwise, I just run to the nearest shop when an awesome game is out.

^^^ Not the busy area of Satwa, its on Diyafa road, there is no traffic there at almost any time or atleast whenever I go there. Plus it helps if you drive a car that intimidates people :P

Just finished the game on normal. We can still free roam in Arkham and complete all the missing riddles. Have around 30 of them left. Ill try the challenge rooms and the highest difficulty mode next. Excellent game. Worth buying it!!
