From how bad the image is I gather not a very good camera!

you can see the grain in the picture, kinda like using digital zoom

rule number one of taking panorama shots...

get a tripod.

It was too windy, even if i had the tripod, it would have got knocked over. Appreciate the suggestion, im considering a gorillapod soon.

The original file was a Whopping 168.9Mb. Hooray for shitty JPEG compression, i got it down to 3.1Megs for online purposes.

However, youre right, unfortunatly there was alot of saltwater in the air so the image wasnt as clear as i had hoped. Also it was getting dark, and the wind wasnt helping either.

Not necessarily... that rule only applies to n00bs with a camera. And of course to lowlight scenes.

I've done many panoramic shots all in good light and have yet to use a tripd for them. All crisp and clear. Got some on flickr but can't get links... shits blocked at work.

I just took a new picture, with the camera i got (canon G9). Although technically, the new picture is alot better, I love the lighting and the waves in the first one.

After i made the panorama, the original TIFF was 230MB, and i had to squash it down to a 4.8MB jpeg to host it online.
